Post Malone smiling with permanent diamond teeth featuring 12 carats of custom-cut diamonds by celebrity dentist Thomas Connelly in Los Angeles.

Post Malone’s $1.6M Diamond Fangs

In June 2021, Post Malone added a new kind of “grillz” to hip-hop’s jewelry legacy — but not the kind you take out. Instead, the rapper replaced his natural teeth with permanent diamond veneers, worth an eye-popping $1.6 million.

This wasn't a publicity stunt. The work was completed by celebrity dentist Thomas Connelly, in partnership with jewelers Idyllwild Dental and Isaac Bokhoor of Angel City Jewelers in Los Angeles. The process involved surgically modifying Post Malone’s natural teeth, embedding them with two custom-cut diamonds totaling 12 carats, making it the first full-set permanent diamond dental reconstruction in history.

The diamonds were custom cut from rough stones to fit his teeth precisely — a feat that took over 18 months of planning and execution. Connelly called it a “fusion of advanced dental surgery and high jewelry craftsmanship.”

The story exploded across fashion and music media. Rolling Stone, GQ, and Vulture all covered the transformation, and it even made headlines in dental journals and tech blogs due to the complexity of the materials used. Malone himself took to Instagram to share the result with a simple caption: “I got diamonds in my smile.”

The move wasn’t just about shock value — it marked a shift in how celebrities view jewelry. No longer limited to rings, chains, or watches, luxury embellishment is now being fused with body modifications in ways we’ve never seen before.

Post Malone has long been known for blending streetwear and luxury, but the diamond teeth are his most unforgettable statement. Unlike grillz, which are removable, these diamond veneers are permanent, meaning Malone wears high jewelry 24/7 — no red carpet needed.

This daring move solidifies Post Malone’s reputation as a pioneer of nontraditional luxury — and pushes the boundaries of what counts as “fine jewelry.”
